[PConline Evaluation] Intel's 8th generation Core processors and Z370 motherboards hit the market during the National Day holiday, with various manufacturers quickly following up. This was the first time that the 300 series Z370 motherboard was launched, mainly by Taiwanese brands. However, only one mainland brand had the capability to release it at the same time—Colorful. Colorful's iGame series graphics cards, custom-designed for gamers, have gradually gained recognition in the market. The iGame series of motherboards has now reached its fourth generation (Z97, Z170, Z270, Z370). "What’s next?" Take a look at this iGame Z370 VULCAN. Colorful iGame Z370 Vulcan X – Picture Review, Quoted Parameters, Overview The earliest use of the VULCAN suffix by Colorful was on the top-tier graphics card, the GTX 1080 Ti, which was also the industry's first graphics card with an LCD screen, significantly enhancing the gaming experience. Now, we take a look at the motherboard named VULCAN and see what performance it brings. Unboxing: High-quality box design The lower left corner features three Intel logos. The packaging is consistent with the 200 series, with a red-edged black design that exudes quality. It’s clear that the packaging was carefully designed. The most recognizable feature on the motherboard is the iGame logo. After years of aggressive promotion by Rainbow, any DIY enthusiast should be able to spot it instantly. This translates to "player customization," which is the core design concept of the iGame series by Rainbow. These are useful for entry-level players. Each key is labeled in English, making the motherboard more user-friendly and fun to use. The motherboard has an impressive number of PCIe slots—three long PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and three short PCIe x1 slots. It can meet the needs of all users who purchase this board. There are a total of 10 USB ports—two USB 3.1, four USB 3.0, and four USB 2.0. However, there is no Type-C port, possibly because the target audience may not require it. The rest are standard interfaces, and the network port uses Killer technology. The Colorful iGame Z370 VULCAN is priced at 1499 yuan. In the current market dominated by Taiwanese brands, this price is considered quite affordable. Dismantling: High-quality materials and LED lighting The inductors used on the CPU power supply module are similar to those found on high-end iGame graphics cards, and they offer excellent thermal control. Standard configuration for a Z370 motherboard. With a K-series CPU, it supports overclocking up to 3600MHz. The audio module features LED lighting, with a blue "VOICE GAMER" effect. It uses the ALC1150 decoder chip and Nichicon audio capacitors, which are typically found on high-end motherboards. The onboard network card uses the Killer E2500 chip, a commonly used model on flagship motherboards. Colorful's decision to include it at this price point is impressive. The USB 3.1 bridge chip from ASMedia is widely used in the industry. Its popularity means drivers are easy to find. These are small but thoughtful design elements that improve usability. Colorful is gradually catching up with top Taiwanese brands in these details. Dismantling summary: At this price, the materials used are among the best. The audio, CPU inductors, and network card are all top-notch. BIOS: Still old, but bugs have been fixed All the options are present. When using Z270, there were minor issues with saving parameters, but this time the problem has been resolved. The progress is noticeable. The BIOS remains one of the biggest gaps between mainland and Taiwanese manufacturers. Colorful has made real progress, and the gap is clearly narrowing (as many brands have not changed their BIOS in recent years). This evaluation didn't include CPU overclocking, but in the coming days, we'll be testing a 1K–2K motherboard from Hengping, and will compare it with the iGame Z370 VULCAN. Keep an eye out for that link. All Z370 brands are involved. Which one do you expect? Let us know! â— SCSI is a multi task interface with bus arbitration function. Multiple peripherals attached to a SCSI bus can work at the same time. Devices on the SCSI share the bus equally.
â— the SCSI interface can transmit data synchronously or asynchronously, the synchronous transmission rate can reach 10MB / s, and the asynchronous transmission rate can reach 1.5mb/s.
