Refrigerator sales will exceed 4 million units

Although the weather is cold, the recent performance of the refrigerator industry has gradually warmed. The industry predicts that the sales of refrigerators will exceed 4 million units during the 2013 New Year's Day and Spring Festival, up 15.1% year-on-year, while the growth rate of multi-door refrigerators on the New Year's Day Spring Festival market will be more than 30%.

Industry online data show that in November 2012, China's total refrigerator sales reached 5.03 million units, of which 3.64 million domestic sales, export 1.39 million units, exceeding market expectations. From January to November of 2012, the total sales of refrigerators in China totaled 74.04 million units, which represented a year-on-year increase of 1.2%, of which, 55.42 million units were sold domestically, a year-on-year increase of 0.2%, and exports were 18.60 million units, an increase of 4.4% year-on-year.

According to industry sources, due to the prevailing market downturn and low base, in order to impact the annual performance, various home appliance companies will launch fierce sales promotions in the near future; at the same time, the external macro environment in 2013 will be better than 2012, and the refrigerator market will be on New Year's Day and Spring Festival in 2013.
