TDK Co., Ltd. has introduced the MMZ0402EUC series of patch magnetic beads, designed to meet the growing demand for high-performance, compact components in modern electronics. These new chip beads feature the lowest DC resistance available in their size category, making them ideal for power-efficient applications. At 100MHz, the two variants offer impedance values of 150Ω and 180Ω, with DC resistances as low as 0.62Ω and 0.69Ω respectively. This combination significantly reduces power loss while enhancing noise suppression capabilities. The compact IEC0402 package measures just 0.4mm x 0.2mm x 0.2mm, yet delivers an impedance that is 20% higher than TDK’s existing MMZ chip beads with similar DC resistance ratings. Additionally, the rated current has been increased to 350mA and 300mA, offering better performance in high-current scenarios. These improvements make the MMZ0402EUC series particularly suitable for use in smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices where space is limited but performance is critical. Thanks to advanced TDK materials, the new product line achieves a superior impedance-to-DC resistance ratio. The components are designed to operate within a wide temperature range of -55°C to +125°C, ensuring reliable performance in various environmental conditions. TDK plans to expand the range of impedance values offered in this small form factor to support a broader spectrum of design requirements in mobile devices.
