When planning to use a drone for fighting drugs, there are several key points to keep in mind beyond just operating the drone itself.
Firstly, before any action, ensure the medicine container is thoroughly cleaned. If the container isn’t brand new, check for any visible “drug residue†inside. This indicates carelessness on the part of the operator, which is unacceptable. To clean it, soak the container in water mixed with a mild detergent solution (at a ratio of 1:1000) for about half an hour. Then scrub it for a few minutes and rinse out the detergent. Follow this by washing it again with water containing 10% ethanol (alcohol). This helps remove any organic solvents and prevents foaming.
Secondly, always verify the nozzle’s atomization performance before use to ensure there are no clogs or impurities obstructing the spray.
Thirdly, since drones can carry a much higher concentration of chemicals compared to traditional methods, it’s crucial to check the compatibility of all substances being mixed. Mixtures should be tested in advance by diluting them 20 times and observing if any aggregation, heat generation, or gas release occurs. Avoid using pesticides labeled as “suspension†or “gel suspension†due to their tendency to contain substances like xanthan gum or modified starch, which can thicken the liquid and block the nozzles.
Fourthly, the sequence of adding chemicals is vital. Start by filling half the container with clean water, then add any acidic water-soluble fertilizers first, followed by wettable powders, emulsifiable concentrates, silicone synergists, and ketamine. If acetic acid is needed, add it last at a rate of 10 grams per kilogram of diluent. Always finish by topping up with water and mixing thoroughly.
Acidic water-soluble fertilizers help purify water and should be added early in the process. Acetic acid protects pesticides from degradation and promotes crop growth but should be used sparingly.
After completing a job, clean the container immediately. Even if multiple jobs are done in one day, both the container and nozzle should be cleaned daily to prevent phytotoxicity and maintain equipment longevity. Using a weak ethanol solution is ideal for this purpose.
Lastly, consider investing in an atomizer that generates negatively charged ions. This enhances the drone's spraying efficiency by attracting positively charged plant surfaces, ensuring better adhesion, reduced drift, and minimized risk of phytotoxicity. This method not only improves effectiveness but also conserves pesticide usage.
These steps ensure safe and efficient drone operations in combating drug-related issues while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
